Washington DC Shopping
Everyone knows that Washington DC is full of culture and history. But, it is also a treasure trove for any shopper. The District offers anything a person could want. Styles range from classic to exotic and everything in between. Within DC there are several neighborhoods, each with their own charm and all easily accessible by Metro.
For high end shopping, visit the Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights areas. Here you will find department stores Neiman Marcus, Saks, and Bloomingdales. Also, the Collection at Chevy Chase, an exclusive hot spot, features boutiques like Jimmy Choo, Tiffany, Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
If you're looking for a mix of locally owned and widely known, visit Georgetown. Quaint cobblestone streets are home to retailers such as Banana Republic and Coach, as well as unique DC boutiques. Georgetown also features the Shops at Georgetown Park, a full service mall containing a plethora of stores. The mall is located on M street NW. With plenty of restaurant options as well, there's something for everyone.
Dupont Circle is best described as the eclectic area of the District. Here you will find a Sunday farmer's market, alongside retailers such as Brooks Brothers. You can browse one of the many bookstores, or visit The Tiny Jewel Box for a unique souvenir.
The Capitol Hill area, features, a blend of national retail stores as well as pet stores, and antique shops. You will also find wonderful collectibles, dazzling art, and gorgeous home furnishing shops as well as a wide selection of restaurants.
Finally, there's downtown DC which has everything you can imagine. There are clothing stores, home furnishing stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and of course, Chinatown. Gallery Place is located at 7th and H streets NW, next to the Verizon Center. It features stores such as Urban Outfitters, and Ann Taylor, and also has a 14 screen movie theater, Regal 14.
Washington DC and all its shopping possibilities are just minutes from Reagan National Airport. Step off the plane, and into a shopper's haven.
